Europe

Europe is a continent characterized by incredible cultural, historical, and geographical diversity. One of the most interesting things about Europe is its influence on world history, as it is where some of the oldest and most powerful civilizations originated.

Different cultural groups are associated by ethnographers into roughly 21 culture areas. There are about 160 culturally distinct groups in Europe, each characterized by self-recognition by its members. Europe’s cultural heritage is a rich mosaic of cultural and creative expressions inherited from previous generations. This diversity arises from centuries of migration, cultural diffusion, conflict, and shifting borders.

However, cultural diversity in Europe can also be a problem for European integration, particularly due to fundamental differences in cultural attitudes. These disparities are difficult to equalize and can be accentuated by modern migration. Cultural factors have long-term effects on Europe’s spatial structure, impacting economically and politically relevant attitudes.
